Easter Weekend

Don't judge me.
I didn't plan on getting Baby Girl an Easter basket.

I mean, she's 2 months old. BUT... when Pottery Barn puts their Easter baskets on sale, you gotta get one monogrammed. And when Barnes and Nobles has Buy one, Get one 50% off.... you gotta take it. And then when you see the fancy book display of all the fun Easter books... you gotta browse. And then when one of them makes you tear up reading it, you have to get that! And then when you see one called "Pat the Bunny" and it's interactive and relevant to the holiday, YOU HAVE TO GET IT!

And that, my friends, is my version of "when you give a mouse a cookie". I'll call it "when I go shopping anywhere for anything".

Our weekend in pics:::

please disregard my face.... we were real excited her chucks fit! Thanks Aunt Shelby!

Our easter get up sans headband...

Happy blurry baby!

Cousin shot! I can't tell you how much I love this.

More on her Easter basket later!

Playing Catch Up

I seriously need to get on my blogging game! Whoops!

As I'm sitting here eating carrots & ranch, drinking a pepsi, Baby Girl is asleep in my arms like normal. Don't judge. Maybe someday she'll nap in her crib.

We are so excited because in about a week, we are moving to KANSAS CITY!!! We're living with my parents for a while, which that might deserve a whole blog in itself! ;)

I cant help but think of all the million milestones Andie will go through living at Nana and Papa's house. First foods maybe? First time sitting up, rolling over, laughing???

"They grow up too fast"...
But seriously, I'm loving her 2.5 month old phase SO much!

We had a lovely family day for St. Patty's

Our friend Barrett came over to play. He's so sweet to her and constantly says "BABY!"

Love this... first time in the Bumbo. Also, she is now too long for size 0-3 footies. Everything else still fits. This girl is just l o n g.

Andie, I'm so sorry for this. We had to try on her Jayhawk swimmers during the KU vs. UNC game...

I just love this picture. I can just hear her singing, "I'm ready to paaarrtyyyy" from Bridesmaids.

Ugh, I can't take this.

Oh and we finally like Sophie!! Score.

Happy Easter everyone!

t w o m o n t h s

Oh my world....
so I refrained from playing dress up on her two month birthday since that morning we got shots (insert super terrifyingly sad face... from mom and baby).

So we waited a couple days and finally had some fun. I couldn't pick my favorite because I love the long and short of them (pun intended)::

Weight: 12 lb. 12 oz. (93% little chunk!)
Height: 23 3/4 in. (86%)

What we like right now:
Finally... looking at our toys! You are actually interested in them! Our play mat and mirrors are so much fun!
Being carried. All day long.
Drooling. Spit Queen over here.
Smiling and talking! Especially for Daddy, and especially on your changing table.
Kicking our legs whenever we're awake! Those things are everywhere.
Holding our head up so much! Almost there, bumbo. Almost there.

What we don't like:
Extended tummy time. Two minutes and we're over it.
When mommy yells "Babe!" at Daddy...
Getting our diaper changed at 4am.
Car rides to KC. Too long.

Princess of naps is right

First KC Trip

We............
MADE IT!

The iPhone, portable DVD player, Baby Einstein and her bug (toy, of course) are life savers on a roadtrip.

She didn't necessarily dig being in the car when it got dark out, so let's pray that changes.

We had a great time visiting Nana and Grandpa (Papo Gigo... if you get this reference, you've got great Christmas movie taste).
We made it to a few restaurants and events, which wore her out. Always love it when she's worn out.

Here's our trip in pics:::

Finally, some family pics.

Had to stop at Sheridans for ice cream in 30-degree weather. Thank God those heaters were there...

My balding baby became verrrrry fond of her Grandpa.

4 generations!!!

There was a lot of this:

The closest Logan got to holding her:

Oh hey cousin friends!

She was real excited for her trip home.

KC, hope to see more of you soon!

6 weeks.Firsts

My child has been alive for 6- almost 7- weeks! I can't believe it!

You know you're a first time mom when...
I have literally over 1100 pictures on my phone of her alone, not to mention a large number on Jason's phone.
All my google searches start with "why does my baby...", "when does my baby...", "newborn won't..." and so on.
I am almost done crying every single day about something. These are good and nervous tears people. Both kinds about everything under the sun.
I text things about her diapers to my mom and husband, and occasionally a friend or two.
Every 'first' is super exciting: first time to use a changing table in a public bathroom, first time to actually shop that diaper aisle in Target, first time to use a stroller at the mall, etc.

I try to always remember that this is still the easiest 'mom' life I will have right now. She still sleeps most of the time and I know nothing will be easier with more than one child. But fear not, that will not happen for a while. Hopefully.

Okay... some pictures!

First Valentines Day. She loves laying on her back and looks around alllll over the place.

She open mouth kisses. Watch out.

We went to our first restaurant- Rudy's BBQ. Nana might love her a little.

Hanging out with our cousins! The look so sweet and precious in Emie's crib, but I see future trouble.

We went to church for the first time (without daddy... so sad)!

Our first pair of shoes! Didn't stay on more than a second after this pic, but we got them on!

We love our giant bows from Lala! Don't judge our car seat straps. We try.

Of course, we had to document our first trip to Panera. Nana would naturally be in this picture.

4 weeks old!

Life has seriously flown by! Every night blends in with the one before and every hour feels like a moment.
What we've liked the past two weeks:

  • Our new bath! We love warm warm WARM water! And peeing every time.
  • Open mouth kisses. It's kind of the sweetest thing ever, and you smile after.
  • Watching American Idol and the Bachelor. You like the singing and I guess, Tierra's nasty voice.
  • Sleeping on mommy, still. I never want it to end. I could sit all day like that.
  • Our new paci! Thanks NUK for making cute ones!
  • Our trip to Mathis Bros. You slept the whole time... thanks to Grandma, I think.

What we haven't liked:

  • Our walk the other day. You screamed the entire time and it made mommy sad and scared to get you out again!
  • Being still when we're awake. Lots of stimulation is required :)

Oh, I could eat these toes up everyday!

I loved this moment between them. She couldn't look away.

Child has some good facial muscles :)

She may or may not have scoliosis. Also, I believe when you're a mom you're entitied to the hair claw.

2 weeks

Okay... I have 10 minutes until I need to change and feed miss Andie, so I thought I'd squeeze in a quick post.

Yes, this is life now. I've joined the every-2-hour-feeding schedule... trying to fit in anything and everything (mostly napping) in between! These last 2 weeks have been literally the best and hardest of my whole life. I know... I'm cheesy and every cliche is now understood and repeated. She is my light, the joy I've never known, a love I've never known. I've officially had her by myself for 2 days, though. So I guess now it's real. HA....

Motherhood has been great! Even though motherhood doesn't stop at 10pm when I want to go to sleep. I know what goes on in this house alllllll hours of the night :).

Jason has been INCREDIBLE. Andie and I are so lucky! I get overwhelmed with joy at least once a day (hormones are still whack) and thank God for my two loves.

Best moment: I am loving when she's awake and looking around. Nothing like staring at her baby blues and watching her smirk!

Worst moment: Getting mastitis a week in and not being able to do a darn thing. Thank God for family (Natalie... if you read this, you're a life saver/ Mom... thanks for coming back down) and a baby who adapts easily!

And some quick iPhone pictures:
 we love our friends!

 precious Grandma time

that sweet face.
