the husband's iphone post.

I have 7 thousand blog posts ready and brewing in my head, but I have been a teeny bit too busy to post any! We are officially moved in and living in our new house.

If you saw me right now, you might question if I have showered in the last 2 weeks. "Her roots might look okay but is that paint in her.... um...armpit hair?" Probably.

I can't find my razor.
Anyways....

Speaking of glamourous things, just about the only thing left to update in our house is all the brass! Everywhere you look, brass brass brass.
I will show pics later. But for today, I must share these sweet images I found on Jason's phone. It's so interesting to see what pics he's taken. It's like I have another photographer for life and I forget about it. So here's a few hints at what we've been doing:

(We did wear spots, they just came off as soon as we snagged our free dinner! Duh)

sixmonths.

We are officially closer to being 1 year than we are to being a newborn.
*cue mama tears*

(yes those are bandaids from our shots :(...  )

Length: 27.5 inches (97%)
Weight: 17.5 lbs (72%)

Milestones this month:
  • Eating fruits and veggies! You have loved everything so far, especially peaches! Can't wait to start using the Baby Bullet when we get everything unpacked!
  • You are thisclose to sitting up on your own! You only need a little assistance now!
  • You try to stand, run your feet and jump ALL the time! We of course are holding you, but you think you're doing it on your own.
  • You are now pretty consistant with the napping. We still take 3 naps but usually all at the same time. Still mostly napping in the bouncer, but you have basically outgrown it, so once we move...hello crib!
  • Any clothing that says "3" in the size is a no go. I found a newborn outfit of yours and cried all over it. You are such a long baby!
Things you like this month:
  • Your exersaucer (?)! You go CRAZY jumping in it!
  • You are LOVING your new, bigger sized NUKs! I'm totally okay with it for now:)
  • Talking in your crib! Most days, we wake up to you aaaaahing and oooohing at everything! We walk in to get you and you smile SO big at us!
  • Everybody you see on a daily basis is your favorite! So this includes me, dada, nana, papa and the kitties. You finally LOVE being loved on by more than just me!
  • Mirrors! You know where every mirror in the house is and you just smiiiile when we walk by!
  • Being swung around in anybody's arms! You laugh so much whenever this happens!

Things you don't like this month:
  • Carseat. It's finally happened. Too many hours on the road have turned you into a car grump.
  • Eating on things that don't actually give you food. Such a disappointment!
  • When you see mommy leave the room! I've got to be so sneaky now!
  • You got a cold two weeks ago and you squirmed and squirmed at any sight of Boogie Wipes, Saline spray, or the Nose Frida. Sorry child!
Sweet Memories:
  • First time in the pool! You LOVED being able to walk all over the place!
  • Some good quality time with your cousins! So happy to have a girl cousin the same age!
  • First wedding and you rocked the good attitude!
  • So many new faces have been discovered. My favorite one is what I call the "almost laugh". You scrunch up your nose and open your mouth real big, but no noise. :)
  • Your first taste of frozen yogurt! Ha.. a one time thing... at least for a couple more months!

Mommy Things

While there are many (and I mean MANY) wonderful things out there for our babies, us mommies are entitled to enjoy a few things, too.

I thought I would give you the rundown of my post-baby (i hate the words "post partum" for some odd reason) things that have gotten me through life!

Warning: boobs are involved.

Mommy Things

  1. Lanolin Cream. Duh. If you've heard my BF journey, you'd know this was with me always.
  2. Thank God messy buns/top knots/weird ponytail plops are so in, cause this mama aint cutting these locks.
  3. ERASE PASTE. It's all in the name.... also I can't live without concealer. Most of the time I even wear it to bed. Can't handle these dark circles.
  4. This is my new obsession. LUNA bars in White Chocolate Macadamia. YUM. under 200 cals, they are my favorite snack/breakfast.
  5. After trying all the nursing bras at Target and experiencing the fashionably non-supportive paper-thin over-the-shoulder-boulder-holders, I found this one at Kohl's and I have worn it everyday. In fact, if you've seen me at all in the past few months, you've probably seen it in its entirety. Sorry I'm over modesty some days.
  6. I wore a *dark* cotton robe around after I had Andie that I got from Target. It was fabulous for those newborn days when I probably sat around in my nursing bra and watched New Girl or PLL (Pretty Little Liars...duh). However, when I wear it now, all I see is a giant cloth concealing that mushy post-baby body, so it was a short favorite.
  7. Do I need to explain this one? My Keurig knows to come on at 7am every morning, thank God.
Please comment and tell me your mommy favorites so I can have new ones for baby #2!

Dreaming of the New

Did I mention how excited I am to create Andie's nursery TWICE?!
When we move in two weeks (!!!), she will be moving into a crazy lilac-painted room that I get to repaint! Hallelujah.

I don't know if I'll go all crazy, I definitely am not allowed to ask for wainscoting.... but a girl can dream, right?
Here are some things I would LOVE...

1.This watercolor peony wallpaper as seen in this beautiful nursery collage (YOU CAN'T TALK ME OUT OF WALLPAPER....I LOVE IT)

2. Obviously I still want this bedding (RH)

3. Of course, Leila Ali's nursery is still so incredible to me

4. And duh, this mirror. Basically if I can't have it in my room, Andie gets it;)

5. Also, I'm totally adoring molding in her room right now. We'll see if I can at least swing this one ;)

Happy Monday y'all!

Movin' and weddin'

We are finally wholly in Olathe! My dad came with us and moved all of our furniture back up to Kansas! Bless him...

We got to stay with Grandma Sue and Grandpa Bill and swim in their pool! Andie loved it so much... she got  floor burns on her toes from the pool floor. :( Mom fail. I felt ter.ib.le

Highlights of our trip:

  • Going to our first wedding (congrats Chad & Sarah)! It was beautiful. Daddy was in the wedding, so we hung with the rest of the Taylor clan. We loved seeing our aunts and uncles!

Aunt Natalie entertains as it's getting close to bedtime (read: 20 minutes past her bedtime and then she wouldn't fall asleep until 10:30 ladies and gentlemen....)
  • Swimming in our new floaty! Papa gave us a water bottle which became the best chewing toy in the world! We loved being able to walk in the water!
We loved feeling the water on our head... silly

Note: Papa got a sunburn in the exact shape of what is showing above. He loved driving home & moving furniture the next day
  • Getting to see the Browns! We were hoping Annabel would make her entrance into the world before so we could meet her, but she decided to come the day after we left! Little stinker. We enjoyed watching our future husband's bravery in the pool, though :)

around this time, Brent says something like "The water only hits you there?! Let's walk and see how far we can both go..."

the Grandpa's were a little pooped. Duh... nap time with Andalicious (gross).

I leave you with something I call "Andie Time".... oh road trips. Only fun for about 20 minutes.
Then all the cheetos are gone.

5 months old

AndieLove.... you are 5 months (and a couple days) old!

That means I've had 5 months to workout. Sorry I just started.

You are a handful these days, and I'm sure to only become more of one!

Things you like:

  • Grabbing ANYTHING in front of you! Every cup/bottle that is in front of you is going to be aggressively brought straight to your mouth. I'm a little worried you can actually get stuff out of my camelbak.
  • Your toes. Of course. #1 favorite toy.
  • Napping in your bouncer still. Not sure when I'll have to break this, but you still fit and you fall asleep likethisfast in it, so.... not complaining yet!
  • You don't mind wearing hairbows or being in your carseat (things I figured she would struggle with) so I thank my stars for both of those. Because both are necessary. Especially that first.
  • Cuddling & Reaching. These are so cute. I love when you reach for me people and nuzzle right on in.
  • The songs "I'm bringing home my baby bumble bee" and "BINGO" ...lol.
  • BUBBLE GUPPIES
Things you don't like:

  • the sun. Every walk/jog is a struggle. I kind of think you're allergic to it. Thank God for trees.
  • shoes. Hate 'em. We just hate 'em.
  • Strangers. Sorry y'all... give her time.
  • Rolling into things. That's right people... I said rolling. Hello, baby gates.

3 years

I feel like we're officially married.
3 whole years under our belt. We have now been married longer than we dated... that's kind of special, right?

I don't mean to write some mushy how-much-i-love-my-"hubby" post. But here it is.

In pictures.

(Note: I wish I had the first picture I sent my mom of him & me. We were cuddling on the couch watching a movie... baha, whoops. Oh, the things we don't do anymore. I mean, what? We cuddle all day everyday with our baby in between...)

our awkward Christmas picture after we got engaged... clearly you know who I belong to now...

representing at Nationals

don't ask me why I was acting all sassy at the altar

And this is how we celebrated:
Jason put notes on everything I would use/see... those are 2/5 pictured. Also, the perfect "simple Kansas girl" bouquet is what I call that. Also... we got each other our ... get this... FIRST pair of Sperry's. I know. We both died and went to Heaven with how comfy they are.
We saw 'Now You See Me' which is my new fav, but most importantly, we were away from Andie for exactly 3 hours. During bedtime. I about died and so did the babysitter (sorry Mom).

Here's to 77 more years love!
